Uist and Barra League
Barra v Iochdar Saints
Wednesday 5th August, Castlebay, Barra
Iochdar Saints travel to Barra this evening, knowing that win could go a long way towards retaining the Uist and Barra League Championship.
Barra will be looking to defeat Saints for the first time in the league this season, having lost the previous two fixtures between the sides.
If the matches already contested between the two teams this season are anything to go by, there will not be a shortage of action; the three games between the sides, including the Summer Cup Final, have produced 25 goals, with Saints winning all three.
If Barra win tonight, however, the gap between the teams will stand at just two points, with the teams still to meet on one more ocassion later this month.
A win for Saints would extend the difference to eight points between the teams, a margin that would perhaps be too great for Barra to claw back, given that Saints has only lost once in the league so far this season.
The match promises to be a game full of goals, incident and could spur the winning team on to take the title.
