Na h-Eileanan an Iar returned a No vote in the Scottish independence referendum.
Counting Officer for the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar area, Malcolm Burr, announced the result just after 3am.
Turnout for the region was 86.2% with 19,758 votes cast.
22,908 individuals had registered to vote in the constituency.
The results were as follows:
Rejected ballots: 19
53% of voters said No, while 47% backed Yes.
Voters yesterday answered the question: ‘Should Scotland be an independent country?’
Votes from Barra and Uist were transported to Stornoway by a boat and plane earlier this morning.
Heavy fog covering the islands throughout polling day had threatened to delay the delivery of voting papers until much later this morning.
