Great turnout raises over £1500 at Paible School Bingo
Paible school’s prize bingo night ended up with a great turnout from all over the islands with the school hall filled, raising over £1500, with £1376 coming from the bingo and the remainder from Second Years, who were able to raise £206 from providing the refreshments to raise funds for their school trip to Inverness.
The bingo money will go a long way to provide the children with equipment, projects and trips that help make their learning memorable and fun.
The school owes a big thank you to all those who helped put the night together from staff, parents and the pupils. We also could not have raised such a brilliant sum without the incredible generosity of local and national contributers.
These include MacGillivrays, Luney’s, Stepping Stones, Southern Isle Vets, Colin Campbell Sports, Margie Hairdressers, Dolina Skinner, The Dark Island Hotel, Tigh Dearg Hotel, MacIain, Taigh Chearsabhagh, Calmac, Lionacleit Sports Centre, Creagorry and Sollas Co-Op, Hebridean Smokehouse, North Uist Estates, Simpson Supplies, Angus & Michelle Macdonald, A Macdonald Fishing, Hector Shepard, A Macdonald and Sons, Bayhead Shop, Paible Parent Council, Tunnock’s, Whyte & Mackay, Hydro Electric, John Lewis, Rangers, Celtic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Clubs who all gave prizes to the event.
The list is long but they all deserve the thanks of the school for helping make the children’s learning experience far more enriched and fulfilling with these much needed funds.
It also should be mentioned that Ian Macquarrie contributed a much needed bus run to get children from Berneray, on their return from athletics in Stornoway, back to Paible School.
And of course Am Pàipear who got the information about the evening out.
