Business Assistants ready to help Social Enterprises across the Highlands and Islands

The ever-growing Social Enterprise sector across the Highlands and Islands is going to get some helping hands. HISEZ (Highlands and Islands Social Enterprise Zone) have just appointed two Business Assistants to meet the need for short-term practical assistance for Social Enterprises.

HISEZ already has a team of area advisers who meet with new or established Social Enterprises looking for assistance from HISEZ, the Social Enterprise support agency. The advisers hear more and more that organisations need help with an array of activities such as business or marketing plans, helping organisations through transitional stages or simply completing an application form, which can be time-consuming. Now, HISEZ can offer some assistance from Amy Matheson from Oban and Kirsty MacCallum from Inverness who are now available to help any Social Enterprises who have identified a need for practical assistance. Amy said “I am really looking forward to this challenging role and working with exciting Social Enterprises, helping them achieve their potential.”

Amy graduated last year and has been working with Social Enterprises Atlantis Leisure and Stramash since then. Kirsty is currently studying at Aberdeen University but spent last summer working with Social Enterprises and is continuing to do so with a placement during her studies.

For Social Enterprises who are needing help with a business plan, marketing strategy, funding application or even administrative tasks or systems this is an ideal solution. HISEZ would be delighted to hear from Social Enterprises needing practical help so please get in touch to see if Amy or Kirsty are available, whether it is for a day or a week or on/off for a few months. To discuss your requirements please contact amy.matheson@hisez.co.uk or kirsty.maccallum@hisez.co.uk or call on 01463 715 533.
